Sales Merchandiser – Japanese Beauty & Personal Care (FMCG)

This role focuses on enhancing brand visibility, ensuring excellent in-store execution, and driving sales performance in pharmacies, supermarkets, and beauty stores.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute merchandising strategies for Japanese beauty and personal care products (skincare, cosmetics, haircare, hygiene)
  • Ensure products are well-stocked, properly displayed, and aligned with brand guidelines
  • Set up eye-catching displays, gondolas, and promotional areas to attract customers
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment with distributors or sales teams
  • Conduct regular store visits to ensure compliance with planograms and merchandising standards
  • Support event execution (if applicable), including setting up and dismantling displays and materials properly in accordance with brand guidelines
  • Build strong relationships with store managers, beauty advisors, and retail staff
  • Educate retail staff on product features, benefits, and Japanese brand positioning
  • Track competitor brands, pricing, promotions, and market trends in beauty/personal care
  • Ensure proper product rotation (FIFO), cleanliness, and tester availability (if applicable)
  • Submit timely reports on sales performance, stock levels, and store feedback

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Retail, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in sales or FMCG merchandising, preferably in beauty or personal care
  • Strong interest in Japanese beauty trends and products
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Presentable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused
  • Willingness to travel frequently between outlets
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel) & Google Drive
  • Experience handling FMCG
  • Experience working with retailers like Watsons, Guardian, or major supermarket chains
  • Knowledge of skincare routines and product ingredients
  • Ability to conduct basic product demonstrations or support promoters

  • Product availability and on-shelf presence
  • Compliance with brand merchandising guidelines
  • Sales growth per outlet/retailers/area
  • Visibility and effectiveness of promotional displays
  • Store visit coverage and reporting accuracy

Working Conditions
