Injection Moulding Machine Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining injection moulding machinery to produce high-quality plastic components. Duties

  • Set up, operate, and monitor injection moulding machines to produce specified parts in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machines, ensuring optimal performance and identifying any faults or malfunctions promptly.
  • Adjust machine parameters using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Perform tooling changes and maintenance tasks, including cleaning moulds and replacing worn components using hand tools.
  • Handle raw materials safely, including loading materials into machines and managing waste disposal efficiently.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished products, inspecting for defects or inconsistencies, and document findings accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on process improvements, tooling adjustments, and troubleshooting.

Experience

  • Proven experience in fabrication, machining (including milling), or assembly within a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programmes is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial machinery operation.
  • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools, welding, and materials handling equipment.
  • Understanding of tooling setup, CAD design principles, and basic maths skills for precise measurements.
  • Warehouse experience or familiarity with materials logistics is beneficial.
  • Previous exposure to plastic injection moulding processes is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate. This role offers an engaging environment for individuals eager to expand their technical skills while contributing effectively to production goals.

Pay: £12.21-£19.24 per hour
