[Remote] Director, Commercial Accounts - Middle Market (Remote)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking a Director of Commercial Accounts to lead a team and drive growth in the commercial market segment. This role involves managing Account Consultants to enhance customer retention and sales volume while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.


Responsibilities

  • Inspire and manage a talented team of Account Consultants, ensuring top-notch performance and professional development
  • Achieve retention, renewal, and financial goals for medical and specialty products within the 51-99 commercial segment
  • Foster positive relationships with key market constituents, brokers/consultants, government officials, and vendor partners across the service area
  • Partner effectively with internal teams and subject matter experts to meet client needs and maintain a positive organizational reputation

Skills

  • Candidates must live in the MD/DC/VA surrounding areas in order to travel frequently into the offices and client meetings
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience
  • Current health and life license for Maryland, DC, and Virginia
  • 11 years of sales experience with a focus on strategic, consultative selling
  • 3 years of management experience
  • Proficiency in Salesforce
  • Strong leadership and training capabilities for professional sales personnel
  • Extensive knowledge of underwriting principles, group health/life insurance financial mechanisms, healthcare delivery systems, and health insurance products
  • Exceptional facilitation and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues effectively to both executive and peer audiences
  • Ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Frequent travel required (approximately 50%)
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without Sponsorship
  • Expertise in fully insured and self-funded accounts
