Production Planner

Job Overview

Perform a multitude of tasks associated with the Supply Chain process to ensure that all company goals are achieved and that deadlines are met.

Responsibilities and Duties (Include the following, but not limited to)
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for aluminum manufacturing processes (casting, rolling, extrusion, finishing, etc.).
  • Balance production capacity, labor availability, and material supply to meet customer and inventory requirements.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Inventory Control to ensure raw aluminum, alloys, and consumables are available to support production plans.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules in response to equipment downtime, material shortages, quality issues, or changes in customer demand.
  • Communicate schedule changes clearly to Operations, Maintenance, and Shipping teams.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning accuracy, throughput, and cost control.
  • Ensure production plans align with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align production goals with business objectives.
  • Previous experience in the Supply Chain Department preferred.
  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with computers.
  • Ability to create and understand reports.
