[Hiring] Spectrum Manager @Airbase

Role Description

The Spectrum Manager is a current or former DoW spectrum manager, or a close equivalent, who can sit in three seats at once: domain expert, product partner who shapes what we build, and a customer-facing voice. This is a founding-team role with real ownership and equity.

The role is an even split across three areas:

  • Domain and Technical:
    • Serve as an authority on DoW spectrum management, from frequency assignment and deconfliction to DD-1494 equipment spectrum certification, host nation coordination, and interference resolution.
    • Pressure-test our coordination logic and propagation modeling.
    • Help in the development of more automated processes for each step in the process.
  • Product:
    • Partner with engineering and product to translate spectrum workflows into the roadmap.
    • You will be both a leader and a builder.
    • Write requirements, edge cases, code, and acceptance criteria.
    • Help design integrations with the government systems that spectrum managers already live in.
  • Business Development:
    • Build credibility with spectrum stakeholders across the services, the Defense Spectrum Organization, combatant command frequency management offices, DISA, J6/MC4EB, NTIA, and the FCC.
    • Sit across the table from customers and end-users in demos, RFI responses, pilots, and requirements shaping.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in spectrum management
  • 5+ years of combined military and contractor experience

Requirements

  • Location: Washington, DC, NYC, or Remote (with travel to NYC and DC regularly).
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI is a strong plus.
  • Eligibility to obtain a US Security clearance required.

Benefits

  • Base salary of roughly $150,000 to $215,000, plus equity, and full benefits.
  • Salary will depend on qualifications and experience level.
