About the position

Responsibilities

  • Cover varied news events in the U.S., including breaking news and feature stories.
  • Film news and feature stories using broadcast-quality video camera, DSLR, GoPro, and other camera equipment.
  • Work autonomously when filming, while collaborating with colleagues within Reuters Text.
  • Produce and edit content at speed and in challenging weather conditions.
  • Work some weekend shifts and at times, longer hours.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in TV/digital news-gathering and production.
  • Ability to operate independently and work with desk and field producers.
  • Experience conceiving and executing feature stories on topics like climate change, technology, entertainment, and sports.
  • Commitment to accuracy and speed while upholding Thomson Reuters editorial principles.
  • Willingness to work long hours, some weekend shifts, and travel to breaking news stories under tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with additional equipment such as drone, gimbal, and GoPro.
