Advanced RN - Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) - PRN

Position Overview: Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE), providing trauma-informed, non-judgmental care to victims and perpetrators of violence across all ages, from newborns to geriatrics. This part-time role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a difference in a supportive environment within the Midwest region of the United States. Key Responsibilities:

Deliver patient care within the scope of nursing practice, adhering to unit competencies, policies, and procedures.

Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive care plans.

Perform quality assurance tasks including maintaining chain of evidence, accurate documentation, referrals, and mandatory reporting.

Educate patients and families on physical, emotional, and psychosocial aspects related to examinations and treatments.

Prepare documentation, testimony, and case facts for legal proceedings as needed.

Maintain timely and precise documentation in compliance with healthcare policies.

Fulfill scheduling requirements including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.

Uphold privacy and security regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI).

Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, healthcare teams, and external agencies.

Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program.

Completion of a 64-hour course or two 40-hour IAFN SANE training courses within six months of hire.

Minimum of one year acute care nursing experience.

Licenses and Certifications: Current BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by orientation end.

Current ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.

Registered Nurse license from a compact state or relevant nursing board.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

SANE-A and SANE-P certifications.

Skills and Abilities: Basic computer proficiency.
