We specialize in creating solutions that help improve observability and enforce SLAs across all internal teams.</p> <p><strong>Collaborate with others to build the best solutions for customers</strong></p> <p>As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will perform system analysis and troubleshooting, assess capacity of platform, and make improvement recommendations. Having identified improvements, you'll work with engineering and the SRE teams to implement new features and products. In this rewarding role you will help shape the direction of our products and services and how we deploy our network</p> <p>As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Testing for inefficiencies and fragilities and write software or infrastructure fixes. You must be fluent in both software code and IaC</li> <li>Designing and work with Engineering or the SRE team to build automation or provide self-service tools</li> <li>Leveraging skills in data analysis, network diagnostics and debugging tools to characterize performance and capacity of large-scale distributed systems.</li> <li>Designing, managing and tracking of Akamai's platform related KPIs to identify trends and changes to improve performance.</li> <li>Investigating proactively and analyzing platform performance to identify opportunities to maintain and enhance our advantage</li> <li>Collaborating with internal teams to help trouble-shoot and resolve escalations and incidents for our customers.</li> <li>Working with cross-functional teams to gather customer requirements and influence how the business deploys and operates capacity.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Do what you love</strong></p> <p>To be successful in this role you will:</p> <ul> <li>Have relevant experience and knowledge in Computer Science or another quantitative discipline</li> <li>Demonstrate experience in developing solutions Python, bash, or other languages</li> <li>Demonstrate experience in internet protocols such as DNS, HTTP, TCP</li> <li>Have experience working with and analyzing complex systems in Linux, VM, and Kubernetes production environments</li> <li>Show excellent communication skills and articulate technical information in a clear and easy to understand manner</li> <li>Display excellent organization skills, managing priorities and multiple tasks</li> <li>Be a self-starter, proactively taking the initiative to solve problems and have a drive to improve results</li> </ul> <p><strong>About us</strong></p> <p>At Akamai, we make life better for billions of people, trillions of times a day.<br> Whether you're streaming live events, scrolling social media, watching your favorite series, or managing your savings, we're the engine behind the scenes.
