JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Finance Analytics & Reporting is accountable for establishing and delivering the enterprise reporting, analytics, data and AI strategy supporting Marriott’s Finance transformation and Oracle Cloud ERP, EPM,CX,CPQ implementation. This leader will define the reporting vision, target architecture, governance model, delivery roadmap and long-term operating model for transactional reporting, enterprise analytics, financial and management reporting, executive dashboards, self-service analytics and AI-enabled insights. The role will ensure that reporting solutions provide accurate, timely, secure and actionable information while meeting financial-control, regulatory, data-governance and operational-resilience requirements. Serves as the principal reporting and analytics partner to Finance executives, business-process owners, enterprise data leaders, technology teams, cybersecurity, internal audit and implementation partners. This position translates Finance strategy and business requirements into scalable reporting and data capabilities and ensures alignment across Oracle Cloud ERP, Oracle EPM, Oracle Fusion AI Data Platform—formerly Fusion Data Intelligence—Oracle Analytics Cloud and related enterprise data platforms. Owns the reporting and analytics portfolio across design, implementation, testing, deployment, adoption and production support. The position is accountable for report rationalization and migration, financial-report certification, data reconciliation, semantic-model governance, KPI standardization, AI-enabled analytics, service-provider performance and continuous improvement.

The Senior Director will build and lead a high-performing global team of reporting architects, data architects, analytics engineers, report developers and platform specialists. The role will also manage strategic service providers and ensure delivery quality, knowledge transfer, financial discipline and sustainable post-implementation support.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems, finance, accounting, data science, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 10+ years overall progressive work experience in Information Technology, enterprise analytics, business intelligence, financial reporting, data engineering, enterprise applications or related technology disciplines including:
    • 7+ years of experience leading enterprise analytics, reporting, data or financial-systems teams
    • 5+ years of experience with Oracle Cloud reporting and analytics capabilities such as Oracle Fusion AI Data Platform/Fusion Data Intelligence, Fusion Analytics Warehouse, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Autonomous Data Warehouse, OTBI, BI Publisher, Oracle EPM Reports, Smart View or Narrative Reporting
    • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale Oracle Cloud ERP, EPM or enterprise Finance transformation involving complex reporting, analytics and data requirements.
    • Experience defining and delivering reporting strategies across transactional, operational, management, executive, statutory, regulatory and self-service reporting.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle Cloud ERP financial processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Project Financial Management and related accounting processes.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle EPM capabilities such as Planning, Financial Consolidation and Close, Account Reconciliation, Profitability and Cost Management, Enterprise Data Management and Narrative Reporting.
  • Experience designing enterprise semantic models, governed subject areas, financial KPI frameworks and reusable analytics products.
  • Experience with cloud data architectures, data integration, data warehouses, data lakes or lake houses, dimensional modeling and Medallion architecture patterns.
  • Knowledge of batch and near-real-time data pipelines, incremental extraction, Change Data Capture, Slowly Changing Dimensions and source-system change identifiers such as Oracle SCNs where applicable.
  • Experience establishing data-quality, data-lineage, reconciliation, monitoring, exception-management and pipeline-observability frameworks
  • Deep understanding of reporting and analytics security, including role-based access control, row-level security, segregation of duties, sensitive-data protection and alignment with source-system data access.
  • Experience implementing controls supporting SOX, IT general controls, internal audit, privacy, records retention and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing system integrators, managed-service providers and distributed internal teams.
  • AI and Advance Analytics: 
    • Experience defining or implementing AI-enabled analytics capabilities such as conversational analytics, anomaly detection, predictive insights, automated narrative generation, intelligent recommendations or agent-assisted analysis.
    • Understanding of generative AI, large language models, machine learning and agentic AI within enterprise reporting and financial-management environments.
    • Familiarity with Oracle Analytics AI Assistant, Oracle AI Data Platform, OCI Generative AI, Oracle AI Agent Studio or comparable enterprise AI and analytics services.
    • Ability to establish measurable AI success criteria, including accuracy, adoption, productivity, business value, operating cost and risk.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor commitments, delivery roadmaps, resource plans and executive-level risks and dependencies.
  • Strong executive communication, organizational leadership, negotiation and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, mentor and retain architects, engineers, analysts and technology leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in a related technology, data, finance, accounting or business discipline.
  • Oracle certifications in applicable analytics, Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and Oracle PaaS.
  • Experience working in a complex global, multi-entity or highly regulated organization.
  • Experience delivering reporting across multiple ledgers, business units, countries, currencies, accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Experience integrating Oracle data with non-Oracle applications, third-party data sources and enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other enterprise visualization and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with data-governance platforms, metadata catalogs, master-data management or enterprise KPI-governance frameworks.
  • Experience with quarterly and annual financial-close cycles, forecasting, planning, consolidation, account reconciliation and external reporting.
  • Experience establishing an Analytics, Reporting or Data Center of Excellence.
  • Experience with Agile, product-oriented, Oracle implementation or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Technology leadership experience in an outsourced or heavily sourced delivery environment.
  • Experience designing and architecting multi-data source analytics & reporting.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Enterprise Reporting, Analytics and AI Strategy

  • Establish and maintain the enterprise Finance reporting, analytics, data and AI strategy in alignment with Finance transformation objectives and the Oracle ERP and EPM roadmap.
  • Define the target-state reporting architecture and determine the appropriate use of OTBI, BI Publisher, Oracle Fusion AI Data Platform, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle EPM reporting services, Narrative Reporting and other enterprise platforms.
  • Create a multiyear capability roadmap covering implementation, modernization, AI adoption, technical-debt reduction, self-service enablement and platform optimization.
  • Establish measurable business outcomes, adoption objectives, service levels and value-realization metrics for the reporting and analytics portfolio.
  • Advise Finance and Technology executives on reporting-platform capabilities, investment decisions, risks, emerging technologies and strategic opportunities.
  • Establish a reporting and analytics operating model that clearly defines product ownership, platform ownership, data ownership, report ownership and support responsibilities.

Reporting Portfolio and Legacy Rationalization

  • Direct the inventory and assessment of legacy reports, dashboards, extracts, queries, spreadsheets and analytical applications.
  • Establish criteria to retain, replace, redesign, consolidate or retire existing reports.
  • Ensure business-critical, regulatory, statutory and operational reports are identified, prioritized and assigned accountable business owners.
  • Approve the mapping of legacy reporting requirements to target Oracle and enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Govern reporting scope, demand, prioritization and release planning to prevent unnecessary customization and report proliferation.
  • Ensure legacy reports and supporting technologies are decommissioned following successful migration and business approval.

Architecture and Design Authority

  • Serve as the design authority for Finance reporting, analytics, data and AI architecture.
  • Approve architecture principles, design standards, platform-selection criteria, semantic-model standards, security patterns and integration approaches.
  • Ensure architectures support scalability, performance, availability, auditability, maintainability and global business requirements.
  • Govern the use of packaged Oracle content, extensions, custom data pipelines, custom subject areas and third-party reporting technologies.
  • Ensure Finance analytics are aligned with enterprise data architecture, integration architecture, information-security standards and master-data governance.
  • Maintain current-state, transition-state and target-state architecture documentation, including data flows, lineage, security, deployment and operational-support models.

Data Architecture, Pipelines, Semantic Models and Governance

  • Provide leadership for the design of governed data pipelines from Oracle Cloud ERP, EPM, CX and approved external sources.
  • Oversee the use of appropriate data-engineering patterns, including Medallion architecture, dimensional modeling, incremental extraction, Change Data Capture and Slowly Changing Dimensions.
  • Establish standards for pipeline orchestration, restart ability, auditability, exception handling, reconciliation and operational monitoring.
  • Govern enterprise semantic models, subject areas, dimensions, hierarchies, calculated measures and financial-business rules.
  • Establish end-to-end lineage from source transaction through transformation, semantic model, KPI and final report.
  • Ensure data-pipeline and semantic-model extensions are reusable, supportable, documented and aligned with vendor-supported patterns.
  • Ensure common Finance definitions and calculation logic are consistently applied across dashboards, reports, data products and AI-enabled experiences.
  • Establish a Finance reporting-governance framework covering data definitions, KPI ownership, report ownership, design standards, certification, access and lifecycle management
  • Maintain a governed business glossary, KPI catalog, report catalog and semantic-model inventory.
  • Establish processes to identify and remediate duplicate, conflicting or uncertified metrics and reports.

Financial Reporting and Reconciliation

  • Ensure reporting solutions support transactional, operational, management, statutory, regulatory and executive reporting requirements.
  • Establish controls for report completeness, accuracy, timeliness, consistency and traceability.
  • Oversee source-to-target, subledger-to-ledger, ERP-to-EPM and cross-platform reconciliation.
  • Establish report-certification processes for critical financial statements, dashboards, KPIs and management reports.
  • Ensure financial reports can be traced to approved data sources and, where required, to supporting transactions.
  • Partner with Controllers, Financial Planning and Analysis, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and other Finance organizations to validate reporting requirements and outputs.
  • Ensure controlled authoring, review, approval and publication processes for management, regulatory and external report packages.
  • Establish change-control requirements for material financial reports, calculations and business rules.

AI-Enabled Reporting and Responsible AI

  • Define and maintain the roadmap for AI-enabled Finance reporting and analytics.
  • Identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases, including conversational analytics, anomaly detection, forecasting, narrative generation, intelligent recommendations and agent-assisted analysis.
  • Ensure AI capabilities are grounded in governed semantic models, approved financial definitions and authorized enterprise data.
  • Establish human-in-the-loop controls for AI-generated insights, narratives, recommendations and other material Finance outputs.
  • Ensure AI-generated content used in management, regulatory or external reporting is appropriately reconciled, reviewed, approved and traceable.
  • Partner with enterprise AI, data, cybersecurity, privacy, legal, risk and internal-audit teams to establish responsible-AI controls and acceptable-use requirements.
  • Establish standards for model, prompt, agent and knowledge-source selection, testing, approval, deployment, versioning and retirement.
  • Implement controls addressing hallucination, prompt injection, data leakage, unauthorized access, bias, model drift and inconsistent output.
  • Define evaluation frameworks covering factual accuracy, financial consistency, relevance, explainability, response quality and repeatability.
  • Establish monitoring for AI usage, performance, exceptions, operating cost, user adoption and realized business value.
  • Promote AI literacy and responsible use across Finance and reporting teams.

Security, Risk and Compliance

  • Establish security architecture for reporting, analytics, data and AI platforms.
  • Ensure alignment of reporting access with Oracle ERP and EPM security models, including role-based and row-level security.
  • Partner with identity and access management teams to implement appropriate provisioning, deprovisioning, access-review and privileged-access controls.
  • Ensure segregation-of-duties requirements are incorporated into reporting and platform-administration roles.
  • Protect confidential, personal, financial and commercially sensitive data throughout extraction, storage, processing, reporting and AI use.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, privacy, legal, compliance and internal audit to assess and remediate platform and process risks.
  • Ensure adequate evidence is maintained to demonstrate compliance with applicable IT general controls, financial controls and regulatory requirements.

Implementation Delivery and Quality Assurance

  • Own the reporting and analytics delivery roadmap across design, build, testing, deployment and stabilization.
  • Establish scope, milestones, dependencies, quality gates, acceptance criteria and go-live readiness requirements.
  • Ensure functional and technical requirements are complete, traceable, approved and testable.
  • Direct unit, system-integration, user-acceptance, regression, security, performance, reconciliation and production-readiness testing.
  • Ensure reporting solutions are validated under month-end, quarter-end, year-end and other peak-processing conditions.
  • Establish parallel-validation requirements for critical financial and regulatory reports.
  • Govern defect prioritization, remediation and acceptance.
  • Ensure implementation partners deliver complete documentation, automated deployment assets, test evidence and knowledge transfer.
  • Provide transparent executive reporting on delivery status, risk, quality, decisions, dependencies and business readiness.

Adoption, Training and Change Management

  • Partner with Finance transformation and change-management leaders to drive adoption of target reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Define user personas and reporting experiences for executives, Finance professionals, operational users, analysts and platform administrators.
  • Establish role-based training, communications, office hours, communities of practice and self-service support.
  • Monitor adoption, report utilization, user satisfaction and value realization.
  • Use adoption and usage data to improve the reporting portfolio and retire low-value content.
  • Develop Finance data literacy, analytics literacy and AI literacy across the organization.

Production Operations and Continuous Improvement

  • Establish the production-support and service-management model for reporting, analytics, data pipelines and AI capabilities.
  • Define service levels for availability, data freshness, pipeline completion, incident response, problem resolution and user support.
  • Ensure operational readiness includes monitoring, alerting, runbooks, support procedures, escalation paths and disaster-recovery requirements.
  • Oversee incident, problem, change, release and capacity management.
  • Establish root-cause analysis and preventive-remediation practices for recurring platform, pipeline, report and data-quality issues.
  • Plan for Oracle quarterly updates and other platform releases, including impact assessment, regression testing and business communication.
  • Continuously improve platform performance, usability, reliability, cost efficiency and supportability.
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog of enhancements, technical debt, control improvements and innovation opportunities.
