Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Marketing Manager with a proven track record in the airline or travel industry to lead TAP Air Portugal’s marketing efforts across various channels in North America. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation or travel marketing and will be responsible for creating and executing marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
·Serve as the key liaison between the North America team, our Headquarters Marketing team and our local marketing agency, ensuring that all campaigns, promotions, and communications reflect TAP’s global strategy while resonating with the North American market.
·Develop and implement the North America marketing plan, aligned with headquarters’ strategic priorities and tailored to local market needs, within the approved budget.
·Define short- and long-term marketing strategies in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing teams at headquarters.
·Manage PR initiatives in close coordination with headquarters and the local PR agency to strengthen TAP’s media presence in the region.
·Manage relationships with advertising agencies, creative partners and media outlets.
·Manage and disseminate internal marketing and sales information to ensure alignment and clear communication across departments, including the timely sharing of guidelines, campaign updates, and strategic directives.
·Ensure global marketing messages and campaigns are appropriately adapted for cultural and market relevance in the U.S. and Canada.
·Oversee all advertising efforts and collaborate with the local marketing agency to develop and execute campaigns, promotions, and events.
·Strictly monitor and manage the North America marketing budget, ensuring all expenditures are approved, tracked, paid and reported per company policies.
·Analyze ROI across marketing initiatives and recommend adjustments to optimize performance and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
·Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer behavior to identify market opportunities and inform marketing decisions.
·Plan and manage B2B and B2C events, including trade shows and workshops targeting both leisure and corporate segments.
·Support the Sales team with marketing collateral, presentations, event planning, e-newsletters and all promotional initiatives.
·Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels—digital, print, and experiential.
·Prepare and present marketing performance reports and budget updates to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience within the airline or travel industry.
- Deep understanding of North American traveler and market trends.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Demonstrated experience in marketing budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market performance and identify growth opportunities.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Portuguese language skills are a plus.
- Proven record in campaign management, digital marketing and brand strategy.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with a strong focus on execution and brand consistency.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Role based in Newark, NJ with a hybrid work schedule (in-office and remote).
- Occasional travel required within North America and to company headquarters in Lisbon, Portugal.
