Enforcement Specialist
Enforcement Specialist (Zoning Enforcement Inspector)
The Zoning Enforcement Inspector is responsible for enforcing the Unified Government\'s zoning ordinance and land use regulations to ensure compliance with adopted development standards. This position investigates complaints, conducts field inspections, and documents violations related to zoning, land use, and property compliance.
The Zoning Enforcement Inspector works closely with planning staff, building inspections, and other departments to address zoning violations and support orderly development. The position also provides guidance to residents, property owners, and businesses regarding zoning requirements and corrective actions needed to achieve compliance.
Zoning Enforcement and Inspections
- Conduct field inspections to identify and investigate potential violations of zoning and land use regulations.
- Enforce provisions of the Unified Government\'s zoning ordinance and applicable development standards.
- Investigate complaints related to illegal land uses, signage violations, setback encroachments, outdoor storage, occupancy issues, and other zoning concerns.
- Issue notices of violation, warning letters, and compliance orders in accordance with enforcement procedures.
- Conduct follow-up inspections to verify corrective actions and ensure compliance.
Case Investigation and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, violations, enforcement actions, and case status.
- Document violations through written reports, photographs, and field notes.

Experience
